Web Update Sept - Oct 2008
A Special Note from Ed
Greetings...
This is one of those hard-to-write notes. I am sharing some things that I need to talk about that effect the continuation of this ministry. Please bear with me and read it throughout.
Every once in a while, as I spend a good part of the late night praying for your prayer needs and those of our ministry, I feel a strong Word from the Lord. That's the way it was on a recent Monday night. I don't know how God speaks to you, but with me, it is often a strong thought that comes into my mind as I pray over a subject, that I know I didn't put there nor can I go on to some other thought. It just stays there until I fully deal with it.
I think I was developing a 'weary' attitude. It has been a rough summer. Lots of work and very few workers in the vineyard. The Word was not complex. It was simply:
It's time to freshen up, get up and get going and just go all out with this work for another 'season.' Time is short!
Since I had that Word I have been like a cat on a hot tin roof, waking up earlier than ever, staying at my desk longer than I really should, writing more, reaching out further, praying more and recognizing that the wind of political correctness is reaching its long arms around the world of non-profits in a soon to come strangle-hold.
I do not think that organizations like Saints Alive have much time left before we are closed down for spreading "hate" against other faiths. That is what is already happening in other countries like Canada. Here, anti-hate bills are pushing through the political system, with Mormon power brokers like Orrin Hatch and Harry Reid at the forefront. As the ACLJ recently warned, Federal tax law already prevents religious leaders from exercising our constitutionally protected free speech rights. Speak out in any way in any political campaign and you'll lose your tax-exempt status.
In what I now consider our post-Christian society, every orthodox Christian belief is held up to scorn and every anti-Christian action lauded. This is especially true with regard to Islam. It's OK to hate us Christians and everything we stand for, but don't offend a Muslim these days or face the wrath of the law.
Those who hate us are getting away with destroying Christian culture at every turn these days because we let them. Friends, if we each do not take strong and aggressive action against this onslaught, we will lose more than the right to pray in public. While the Hate Crime Bill is presented as a bill meant to make it a felony to physically attack a minority like a homosexual [Isn't it already a crime?], the rhetoric around the bill is also about offending someone's religious belief/ faith. They would put Jesus, himself, out of business.
While it has been Islam that has been at the forefront of the discussions, it is a quick step to include Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Wiccans and the list goes on.
That's how it started in Canada until a pastor was jailed for stating from the pulpit the Biblical problems with homosexuality. Then our friends at McGregor Ministries were shut down for offending JWs. This same end will be coming to America sooner than later. I think that it is highly probable that a new administration will do much more than frown on what we say about Islam, Freemasonry and Mormonism.
I believe that the freedom to speak Biblical truth regarding these groups will be cut short; that our tax exemption will go first and then we will be prosecuted under the new Hate Crimes Law if we continue to speak out. Remember what I said earlier.
It's time to freshen up, get up and get going and just go all out with this work for another 'season.' Time is short!
It is great to jump up and get going, but that brings its own problems. Here at Saints Alive, projects designed to reach far more people than ever before are sitting on the to-do table, unfinished. The reason is simple. There just isn't any money to implement them.
Our newsletters have gone from once a month to every two months, from 4 pages to two pages. Now we have only been mailing them out to those who contribute at least the cost to us, which is now up to about $25.00 per year.
Our free information packets went from the inclusion of the high quality booklet, What You Need to know about Mormonism [or Freemasonry] to a 4 page single color document and then to a two pager and now we don't have the $5.00/per response to handle the requests and there they sit, except for the most critical ones, unanswered.
Our new "in design phase" interactive website with over 50 new books, video and audio files, articles and studies and my personal web blog that will allow me to interact daily with you and the many Mormons/Masons/ Muslims out there sits just yards from the finish line, without the funds to finish.
Some of you are unbelievable, supportive partners in the work who keep us going with your prayers and financial support, but we need others to join with us for this short window of time that we have before the doors begin to shut on us.
If you are not one of those who already stand strong with us, will you pray about taking this last stand with us over the next few years? We need some champions to join our A-Team. Some who will commit to giving either in a one time gift or monthly for this next short season.
Please look over the return card we enclose in our printed newsletters or visit our online bookstore to donate and see where you can join in with us in this urgent battle for lost souls.
I would like you to mail it back to me or send an email to me with your commitment so I can personally respond to you. However, you can go to the Donation bar on the front page of our web site and send a gift electronically.
Your brother in Christ,

Who Are those Anti-Mormons Anyway?
During the week of the GOP Convention, The Utah Democratic Party charged Sarah Palin was a "devout member of an anti-Mormon denomination" and questioned whether Mormons should vote for her.
Palin had attended the Wasilla Assemblies of God. But that Alaska church says she has not been a member since 2002. While that after-the-fact discovery had them back off, the fact that Utah Mormons would attack her faith in such a manner is just a picture of things to come.
The irony is that The Assemblies of God denomination doesn't send missionaries door to door in Utah, telling people that they have the only true church and arm wrestle them into leaving their own faith to become AOG members.
In case anyone has forgotten, that is the message of the MORMON Missionaries.
If anyone is anti- anything, it's the Mormons who are anti-Christian
Let's Not Offend a Muslim
Even in my own community, a local Christian church battled through the permitting process for years to build, ending up with a quiet building on the far back of their property, while our main street now boasts a garish, loud pink 'temple' built by a Hari Krishna/ Hindu group. The city all but carried these folks through the very speedy permit process on their shoulders.
Last week, our school district advised parents that on "Bring Your Pet Day" this year, dogs and puppies would be prohibited because the Muslim students and teachers consider dogs to be filthy.
Even when students were forced to play Muslim for a day and pray to Allah, they weren't told dogs were filthy.
Many school districts across the country are allowing Muslim students time from classes every day for their prayers, and some have installed foot washes in the bathrooms for Muslim ritual washings. If a Christian student tries to quietly pray or even read their private scriptures, they get expelled. Wow!
Rick Warren: Mormons are NOT Christians
Jake Tapper ABC News' Correspondent based in Washington. In an interview with Pastor Rick Warren, August 16, 2008
I noted that Mitt Romney did not get a lot of evangelical votes during the GOP primaries specifically because of his Mormon faith.
"What did you think of that when that was playing out?" Tapper asked.
[Rick Warren replies] "Well, I think there's a fundamental difference [between] evangelicalism and Mormonism," Warren said. "There's no doubt about it. And there's some things that Mormons hold to that are not 'historic Christianity' that all Lutherans, all Methodists, all Baptists, all Pentecostals, all Catholics, Protestants [hold true].
"For instance, all Christians believe in the Trinity. Mormons deny the Trinity. So that's a fundamental difference," Warren said. "All Christians believe in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Mormons believe in additional books that historic orthodox Christians reject. There may have been a misunderstanding on that.
A Few Notes from You
I came across the article entitled The Character of God, I just want to say thank you, so very much for helping me understand God. I have been a Christian for over 20 years and all of these years I have not understood quite like I did after reading this article. I met Ed at a book fair when I was a brand new Christian & I still believed that my native LDS faith was a higher truth. I left it very, very angry with him. Since then I've read several of his books & newsletters. He was the biggest catalyst in my gradual understanding of the lies, deceit and ultimate evil of the Mormon "church".
Thanks so much for your ministry. I have been a member of the LDS church for 51 years and now know it is false. I spend all of my free time reading everything I can get my hands on. I'm not sure where to go to church but I am going to find a place. Now the hard part to spread the word of God to my family and friends.
I was a Mormon for 21 years. I found the Lord Jesus Christ 10 years ago. I am married my wife side are Christian; however all my side of the family are still Mormon and talk about conflict. Please pray for them and please provide me with any information you feel that would help that I could use to witness to me family. Your web site is great. God bless your ministry.
Mr. Decker, I feel that I have found a gold mine in Saints Alive in Jesus! Thank you for your wonderful work and provision of resources.
I am the pastor of a small local church and currently doing a teaching on Mormonism on Sunday evenings. I have received significant opposition from the LDS leadership. The Public Relationship Director of the Eastern Division for the LDS Church attempted to stop our advertising the teaching in our local paper "Florida Today". He actually lied and said that Mormons were not invited. Please pray as our church tries to educate our community about Mormon Doctrine.
I have recently left the LDS Church, and have found my way back to Jesus Christ. Yesterday I saw your film, "The God Makers", and it was a brilliantly executed look at this dark and mysterious cult. Very well made.
My husband and I both are having our names removed from membership of the LDS. Church. I have almost finished your book, The God Makers. I am aghast at all I have learned from reading it!
